I was reading Financial Times’s in the tub, listening to relaxing Sri Hari at the same time
from my iPod. Apps are hot; and what is really fascinating, is that for the first time
the applications flowing is kind of representing the human need in real time. We are downloading
things that are sexy, good, and nice to use. They are sometimes useless, but the crowdsourcing
attitude drives the trends quickly to converge and spread good apps like wildfire. I think the
real winners are companies that can really generalize the whole sphere of incubation-development-
support cycle, so that new apps are created to suite needs, quickly. You cannot hold back development
for years; an app alpha should be born in 8 weeks. It’s stale otherwise. The competition runs you out.
